Kaavalan in Chandramukhi palace

When the Kavalan team was shooting in Kerala, they happened to visit the palace where Manichithirathal (Chandramukhi original) was shot.Immediately, the director of Kavalan, Siddique, decided to can a shot in the palace for the sake of sentiment. Manichithirathal turned out to be a blockbuster and the film was remade in Tamil and Kannada. The Tamil version, Chandramukhi had Rajinikath playing the lead and it went on to become a super duper hit.

The scene was shot by cinematographer N. K. Ekambaram on the film’ s lead pair Vijay and Asin and is said to have come out well. Kavalan is expected to be released on December 24th, 2010.

Velayutham: Commercial entertainer

After completing Kaavalan, Ilayathalapathy Vijay is currently busy with Jayam Raja's Velayutham, produced by Aascar Ravichandran. Genelia and Hansika Motwani play the female leads.

Meanwhile director Raja has confirmed to Galatta.com that Velayutham will be an out-an-out commercial entertainer which will be a treat for audiences. He also revealed that the film is shaping up well.

Interesting, this is Jayam Raja's first original script!

Director Shankar over the moon as magnum opus Endhiran, drawing crowds in all the versions. The trade analysts have predicted that there will be house-packed shows for the next three weeks. The filmmaker was recently in Mumbai for the promotion of the Hindi version, The Robot and screened the film for the Bollywood celebrities.

He happened to shake hands with the team of 3 Idiots makers (producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan) as they walked on the red carpet premiere of The Robot. Shankar was reported of getting some tips from the team, as it happens to be the first remake project in Shankar’s career.
Earlier, Shankar had approached Madhavan and Silambarasan to perform the lead roles alongside Vijay. But as they turned down the offer, Shankar has finally confirmed Jeeva and Siddarth for the roles. Shankar’s closer sources report that Jeeva will be enacting Madhavan’s role while Sharman Joshi’s character will be performed by Siddarth. Harris Jayaraj will score music to the lyrics of Vairamuthu and Manoj Paramahamsa has been signed to handle the cinematography.
Shankar has plans of completing the film’s shooting within a span of 6 months as producers want the film to be released in the summer vacations of 2011. But the director is yet to find Miss Idiot.

VELAYUDHAM 2ND SCHEDULE

The latest update regarding the shoot of Vijay�s current movie KAAVALAN is that, the shooting had got over with only one song pending, In the mean time, Vijay has moved over with the VELAYUDHAM team for the second schedule at Pollachi, wherein the shooting would be continued for 20 days. After the second schedule, Vijay and Kaavalan would be going abroad, for the song shoot. 
 
Audio of Kaavalan is all set to be expected to be released in November 1st week. Vijay had worked really hard for each and every scene and is very sure to strike back as the box office king with kaavalan.

There are no more confusions as the unit members of Shankar’s office are sure that ‘3 Idiots’ will take off soon. Before few weeks, there were rumors pertaining to this project that Gemini Film Circuit is dropping the film due to some difference of opinion between producers and director Shankar. But it has been absolutely denied as baseless rumors.

Also the rumor about Vijay doing lead role in Telugu version has been denied and it will be Mahesh Babu taking on the character. Meanwhile, the other two characters of Jeeva and Siddarth remains unconfirmed while Ileana is likely to be signed for the female lead role.

Ilayadalapathi Vijay’s much waited 51st movie ‘Kaavalan’ which was thought to release as a december gift to all over his fans is now delayed and gearing up to hit the screens in the month of apirl.

Tantra pictures have got this film by spending a huge amount of Rs 6crore. Sources say that in his career Kaavaalan has only sold for such a huge amount in overseas rights.

Red Giant movie is producing this film.

Vijay non-committal on ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Pagalavan’ IndiaGlitz [Friday, October 15, 2010]

Vijay at the moment is concentrating only on 'Kaavalan' and doesn’t want to talk about anything else. The film is in its very final stages of the shooting and Siddique is canning the romantic scenes at a garden location in Valasaravakkam, Chennai.

Yester day some media people were there to catch up with the film’s progress and Vijay. When the reporters asked how far the proceedings with '3 Idiots' Tamil remake has gone, Vijay diplomatically avoided answering situation.

Vijay was also evasive when a reporter inquired about the anticipated film 'Pagalavan' which is to be directed by the firebrand director Seeman.

By not answering the questions Vijay left he media persons puzzled and perplexed. Does this mean Vijay may not be doing those films or he wants to keep every thing under wraps to increase the curiosity factor? Only Vijay can tell.

‘Kaavalan’: The magic of Tantra

Tantra Films, one of the popular distributors of Tamil movies in countries abroad, has acquired the FMS (foreign management screening) rights of Vijay starrer ‘Kavalan’, which is getting ready for a December release.According to sources, the foreign distribution rights of this Vijay’s 51st film have been bagged by J K Saravana, the man behind Tantra Films, for a whopping price banking on the Vijay-Siddique combo, which delivered ‘Friends’ nearly a decade ago.
Meanwhile, sources in ‘Kavalan’ unit say Vijay is leaving no stone unturned to make the film a blockbuster. “The last schedule of the shooting is currently on and Vijay, with the help of Siddique, is monitoring each and every aspect of the film. He moves on to the next scene only after double checking it on the monitor”.

They add: “The film has shaped up well by Siddique. The Vijay-Vadivelu duo will set the screen on fire with their terrific on-screen chemistry, which would be visible after Friends, Vaseegara and Bhagavathy”.

‘3 இடியட்ஸ்’ படத்தின் ரீமேக்கில் சத்யராஜ், இலியானா நடிக்கிறார்கள். ராஜ்குமார் ஹிரானி இயக்கத்தில் ஆமிர்கான், மாதவன், சர்மான் ஜோஷி, கரீனா கபூர் நடித்த இந்தி படம், ‘3 இடியட்ஸ்’. இந்தியில் ஹிட்டான இந்த படம் தமிழில் ரீமேக் ஆகிறது. ‘எந்திரன்’ படத்தின் மெகா ஹிட்டுக்கு பிறகு ஷங்கர் இந்த படத்தை இயக்குகிறார். ஜெமினி பிலிம் சர்க்யூட் தயாரிக்கும் இதில் அமீர்கான் வேடத்தைச் செய்யனா கபூர் நடித்த வேடத்தில் இலியானா நடிக்கிறார். அவரது அப்பாவாக சத்யராஜ் நடிக்கிறார். இதுபற்றி ஷங்கர் தரப்பில் விசாரித்ப் போகிறவர் விஜய். மாதவன் வேடத்தில் ஜீவாவும், ஷர்மான் ஜோஷி பாத்திரத்தில் சித்தார்த்தும் நடிக்கிறார்கள். கரீதபோது, ‘இலியானாவிடம் பேசி வருகிறோம். இன்னும் முடிவாகவில்லை. விரைவில் அறிவிப்பு வரும்’ என்று கூறினர்.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has almost completed the shoot of his 51st filmKaavalan(remake of Malayalam hitBodyguard) directed by Siddique.

Vijay has already started working for his next film Velayudham directed by Jayam Raja. Vijay Anthony is expected to compose the music; it will be produced by Aascar Ravichandran. Bubbly Genelia and Hansika Motwani are the heroines.

Genelia D'Souza will play the role of a journalist, while Hansika Motwani will be a village belle. Santhanam and Sathyan take care of the humour element. Velayudham will grace theatres in summer 2011.
